Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

In 2024 I’m striving for lofty heights and setting a rather ambitious fund raising target in an effort to kick some cancer butt.  I’ll be attempting to double my entire fund raising from the past three years, therefore my 2024 fund raising target is... $16,298!!!!!

In order to do that, I need you to dig deep!  If you’ve donated in the past, I need you to donate again!  If you haven’t donated in the past, this is the year to start!

Not only that, I need you to think about two things:

1.     A big donation this year and I promise I will never hassle you again - ever.  You can go guilt free off into the yonder knowing you have done your bit.

2.     Imagine how much you would be willing to pay for a cure, the moment you’re sitting in the room as the Doctor delivers you the bad news that you have cancer – I am certain I am asking for a mere fraction of that number to try and achieve that very outcome!

Now, really think about point 2 and do so knowing that almost one in two Australians will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime.

Quite simply put, the best time to fight cancer, is before you get it.  And the easiest way to do that is with a donation – today!

Now, if I’m asking you to dig deep, you can sure bet I am too!  This year I am setting some lofty cycling targets as can be seen below, starting off with committing to ride the Challenge Route in this year’s Cancer200.  Thanks to a trusty new steed (The Silverback aka The Grey Nomad aka The Silver Bullet aka Trevor) and with the support of The Breakaways team once again, I am confident we can achieve great things both on and off the bike in 2024!!!

All donations above $2 are fully tax deductible and all money goes to the Harry Perkins Institute for Medical Research right here in Western Australia.  The Perkins also run the Cancer200 event and so all the money goes to where it is needed most, cancer research!!!

Cycling Targets:

1.     Ride the Cancer200 Challenge Route

2.     Ride more than 2,500km for the 2024 calendar year

3.     Commute on average one day per week for the entire year (52 commutes)

4.     Commute every day for one week (5 days in a row)

5.         Crack the 40 minute commute benchmark commuting in

a.     38’38” achieved on 09/11/2023

6.         Crack the 40 minute commute benchmark commuting out

a.     38’32” achieved on 05/12/2023

7.     Crack the 40 minute commute benchmark, both directions on the same day

8.     Ride the “Hey Hey Muchea” Gran Fondo (100km ride to Muchea and back)

9.     Ride the King Rd Classic (60km ride to the Brewery that I just made up)

10.   Climb more than 20,000m for the 2024 calendar year
