My 5th MACA Ride for Research in 2024!

There isn’t a single person I know that hasn’t been touched by cancer.   For me, it was the loss of my big brother (6 years older), Brad, back in 2008 at the age of just 46.  A much-loved brother, son, husband and Dad to 2 gorgeous daughters, our world was rocked when he left it after his brave 10 month battle.  Whether it’s through a loved one, friend, family member or it’s much more personal, cancer is a terrible burden.

In 2024, for the fifth year in a row, I’m taking a stand against cancer and backing the brilliant brains at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

These WA researchers are committed to finding answers faster and developing ground-breaking treatments for the hardest to treat cancers.

Because no one should have to hear those two life-altering words, “It’s cancer.”  It's a journey I'd dearly love for no-one to have to travel... such a shock with a surreal feeling that it just can't possibly be true... and then you realise that it is.

I’m training, fundraising and riding 200km to support WA cancer research. But I’m not doing it alone, there’s a growing group of riders who return year after year to join us on this ride. They do so not only because it’s lifechanging but because the event feels like a big reunion - where all the guests are the family you love!
