I’m riding to beat cancer
This is my 4th year riding and I'm reaching out to share a personal journey that has taken on even greater significance for me this year. It all began with a simple suggestion to ride in the MACA Cancer 200, a ride dedicated to raising funds for cancer research. As a kid, I used to ride everywhere, and the idea of combining my love for cycling with supporting a cause as crucial as cancer research resonated with me. Â
Â
The event became a yearly highlight – the camaraderie, the challenge, and even the post-ride pain was all part of the experience. This year, however, the cause hit home in the most heartbreaking way possible. Cancer, that relentless adversary, claimed my wife. Enduring an eight-hour surgery to remove multiple growths from her neck, she's now in recovery. The pain and frustration of witnessing a loved one battle this disease have fueled my resolve to make a difference. I’ve been riding for a reason all along, but this year that reason is more personal than ever.

I'm committed to making a tangible impact on cancer research, and I'm reaching out to ask for your support. Your donation will contribute directly to the Perkins team, helping fund crucial research that has the potential to save lives. Every dollar makes a difference, and your generosity can be a beacon of hope in the fight against cancer. Please join me in supporting this cause by sponsoring my ride in the MACA Cancer 200 Ride for Research this October. Â Your contribution will help advance vital research efforts and bring us one step closer to a world without the devastating impact of cancer.
