I’M RIDING IN CELEBRATION OF My Friend, Kim Medcalf

I am riding to support my friend Kim on her 10th MACA Cancer 200 ride and in memory of all our loved ones.

4 Weeks To Go! 🚴‍♀️

Hi everyone,

Only 4 weeks to go until my first ever MACA Ride!

I have to admit, as a Territorian, the cold, wet and windy winter weather in the South West didn’t inspire me to get out there and train. Thankfully, we’ve had some beautiful days over the last few weeks, so I’ve been back riding to work when I can, getting a few more kilometres under my belt and some much-needed time in the saddle.
I’ve become a lot more confident on my bike over the past year, but I have to admit the nerves are really starting to kick in now — particularly when I think about riding in a group and being out on the roads. I’m feeling very lucky to be riding alongside such an experienced and supportive team, which definitely helps.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me so far. With your incredibly generous donations — and some epic Bunnings sausage sizzles with the girls 🌭 — we absolutely smashed my original fundraising goal of $2,500. I’ve now increased my goal to $5,000, which is something I definitely didn’t expect when I signed up for this challenge.

Four weeks to go… time to keep pedalling, try not to panic and to get some more kilometres on the bike.

Thank you again for all your support. It genuinely means so much to me. 💛

I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.

Cancer doesn’t just affect one person, it shakes up families, friends and communities. This year, I will be taking a stand against it.

In October 2026, I’m joining a community of passionate riders to cycle 200km to raise vital funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

Every dollar pushes us closer to breakthroughs at the Perkins where brilliant researchers work tirelessly to find life-saving answers for some of the toughest cancers. But they also need our help to ensure their vital progress continues– no matter what.

100% of the funds we raise will go back to the Perkins giving cancer researchers the support to continue their life-saving work so that our loved ones can live longer, healthier lives.

The Ride is more than just a test of endurance—it’s about unity. I'll ride alongside an incredible group of people who believe, as I do, that cancer can be conquered. Your support can turn this belief into reality.

I can’t do this alone. Will you help me to reach this goal?

Whether you join me on the Ride or support my fundraising, your generosity could be the key to saving our loved ones from this disease.

Together, we can beat cancer!
