My Reason to Ride 🚴🏻♀️
Today, most of us know someone who has, has beaten or unfortunately been overcome by cancer and I’m no exception. This year a very close family friend, who I called my second Mum, Teresa, lost her battle to cancer in February. Throughout her very long battle, she never gave up and never lost hope, while still being a light and inspiration to us all. After her passing I decided to complete and dedicate this ride in her loving memory, a wonderful soul who would do anything for the people she loved and care for. After my Dad completed the ride last year, I decided this year we are going to ride together, which is going to a very special lifelong memory for me. We are not just going to ride for Teresa’s beautiful memory but for Dad who has had melanoma, my Grandma who has won the battle over Breast Cancer, and for her sister who is fighting Breast cancer now and for my Grandad who is recovering from Bowel Cancer. We all have stories to tell or know of someone who has lost their battle, can I please ask that you support me in raising $2,500, as this ride helps give money to researchers at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research so they can continue the ongoing world class research here in WA, so one day they can have cure for cancer. If they can fight cancer and all be an inspiration to me in my life, I can ride for them. Let’s stand together to fight this battle. Your donations can be made right here on my fundraising page.
Thank you for support and your donations, Hayley.
I'm challenging myself for cancer research
Everyone has been touched by cancer sometime in their lives. Whether the diagnosis is a loved one, family member or it’s much, much more personal, cancer is a terrible burden.
This year, I am joining over 800 riders in a 2-day, 200km bike ride to raise funds for cancer research right here in WA at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
I am training and fundraising in the lead up to the event. I'd love your support. If you can't join me (I'd love the company), please give generously to my donation page.
Please help me, help the Perkins.
