Team Smiley
Team Smiley, formally the corporate team Global Civil and Mining (GCM) have been around now for 11 years. The team was started by the Blackburn family back in 2015. Changing the team name has been small way of paying tribute to Peter Blackburn’s positive attitude in facing his cancer diagnosis. We sadly lost Peter to cancer in 2022. Peter was a long-term supporter and passionate research advocate. He would use the Smiley face as a symbol for hope during his cancer treatment, as well as a reminder for the joys of life. Our team now want the symbolic Smiley to spread that hope that Harry Perkins Institute can bring through their cancer research breakthroughs. -
