2 more surgeries

During my last skin check, the doctor found two new moles that looked different, one on my upper arm and one on my lower back.
When she told me, I felt strong and made the appointments for the surgeries straight away. When I got home however, and had to tell my partner, I broke down. I had flashbacks to last year, and didn’t know what to think.

I’m now recovering from both surgeries and we just got the results back. They were both a moderate dysplastic nevus, showing signs of melanoma. If left untreated, they could’ve developed into melanoma. I’m so grateful for my doctor, she’s amazing. It’s been another roller coaster ride of emotions and uncertainty, but I can soon go back to running and cycling and I can’t wait!

Just over a year ago, I got diagnosed with cancer. I've had two successful surgeries and will need to do 3-monthly check-ups. My next one is on Friday, which makes me quite anxious. I'm staying positive though, there's always hope! I always treat myself to some chocolate afterwards, either to celebrate good results or to comfort myself - either way, I get to have chocolate :)

I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.

Cancer has taken so much from us. Whether it is a loved one, family member, friend or closer to home, cancer is relentless.

I want to put a stop to cancer by riding 200kms to raise vital funds for cancer research right here in WA.

The funds I raise will go to the brilliant minds at the Perkins who are committed to finding breakthroughs that will lead to improved health outcomes for those affected by the hardest-to-treat diseases.

Hearing the words “it’s cancer” is heart-wrenching. But with Perkins researchers, I am determined to eliminate the fear and uncertainty that cancer brings.

On Saturday 11 October and Sunday 12 October 2025, I will pedal alongside my fellow riders who share the dream of making cancer non-lethal. Your support can turn this dream into reality.

Many riders return every year because they know that the funds we raise go back to the Perkins. It is also a worst kept secret that the Ride is the friendliest cycling charity event in Australia. Why not join me in making a difference?

Whether you join me on the Ride or contribute to my fundraising page, your generous support matters.

Together, we can conquer cancer.
