Cancer200 Ride Update
It’s almost here! In less than seven weeks, I’ll be riding 200kms for cancer research. The reason I ride, is to find kinder treatments and to make cancer non-lethal! I won’t sugarcoat it…it’s goona be tough. My training (or no existence of it) makes me feel it is going to be a big challenge ahead!
With your support and a successful event, we have managed to get to 80% of my target, but there is still time if you would like to contribute to get me to my target.
Over the last few weeks many of you have asked me how my training is going, my response so far has been, what training!!! I need a lot more saddle time and few back-to-back rides to get Basanti (my bike) and my bum acquainted. So, I request you all to keep supporting me and asking me about my training. It will encourage me to get on the bike.
I have and will continue uploading my training journey on Facebook so if you are interested you can add me as a friend.
Many of you have already donated and I wanted to thank you for your support. Some of you have continued to support me year on year. By raising vital fund for the Perkins, we can help people with cancer access better, more effective treatment and ensure their journey is as short as possible.
Many of the cancer research programs are funded by the Ride, and as a result, the Perkins has made life-changing discoveries over the last 12 years. But there’s still more work to do. Despite a major improvement in survival rates for many cancers, as well as improved diagnostics and preventative measures, there are still many types of cancer for which there are no treatments.
But we’re determined to change that. Hope is a gift, and with your support, I know it’s one we can give to all – giving more time with our loved ones without disease. So, the funds raised really do have an impact.
Together, we can do this! This is beating cancer.
Thank you for your continued commitment, support and encouragement – it is greatly appreciated.

I’m riding to beat cancer
There isn’t a single person I know that hasn’t been touched by cancer. Whether it’s through a loved one, friend, family member or it’s much more personal, cancer is a terrible burden.
In 2024, I’m taking a stand against cancer and backing the brilliant brains at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
These WA researchers are committed to finding answers faster and developing ground-breaking treatments for the hardest to treat cancers.
Because no one should have to hear those two life-altering words, “It’s cancer.”
I’m training, fundraising and riding 200km to support WA cancer research. But I’m not doing it alone, there’s a growing group of riders who return year after year to this ride. They do so not only because it’s lifechanging but because the event feels like a big reunion - where all the guests are the family you love!
I’d be so grateful for your support.
If you can’t join me (I’d love the company), please give generously to my fundraising page.
Together, we can help make cancer history.
