It's Personal - I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.
Last October 17, 2025, my life changed in an instant.
I was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer with liver metastasis. One moment I was living my normal life - working full time, being “Supermum,” running a household, supporting friends, and priding myself on being fiercely independent - and the next, everything was turned upside down for our wee family.
It wasn’t just a diagnosis - it was a moment that made me question everything. I went from planning tomorrow to questioning what tomorrow might even look like.
Suddenly, control was taken out of my hands. I had to put my trust in my medical team and let go. Since then, I have undergone major surgery, losing one-third of my bowel and one-third of my liver, and I am currently in my second round of chemotherapy.
It’s been confronting, humbling, and incredibly challenging for me and my loved ones, but it has also shown me the power of medical research, skilled surgeons, and dedicated oncologists who are not just treating me, but striving for a cure.
That’s why this ride means so much to me.
On October 17 2026, exactly 1 year since my diagnosis, I will be riding 200km in the MACA Cancer 200 to raise vital funds for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. The research they do isn’t abstract to me—it’s personal. It’s the reason I have options, hope, and a team pushing boundaries for people like me.
Cancer doesn’t just affect one person—it impacts families, friends, and entire communities. I’m riding for my family, for others facing this diagnosis, and for a future where stories like mine have better outcomes.
100% of the funds raised go directly to supporting life-saving cancer research, helping brilliant minds continue their work toward breakthroughs that give people more time, more hope, and better lives.
This ride is more than just a physical challenge - it’s about unity, resilience, and belief that we can change the future of cancer.
I can’t do this alone. If you’re able to support me - whether by donating or cheering me on - you are helping make a real difference.
Thank you for being part of my journey.
