Taking 2 new riders to Optus Stadium Loop with a little treat of 11% gradient climb.Sunday 18th Feb 2024
Taking my old friend out for a short 15 kms ride around Optus Stadium and EQ.I’m riding to beat cancer and in honor of my Mum Chi
I am writing to share a deeply personal endeavor that is driven by a profound sense of purpose—fundraising to beat cancer and to honor the memory of my Mum, Chi.
Cancer is a formidable opponent that has impacted the lives of countless individuals and families worldwide. My Mum, Chi, was one of those who faced this relentless disease with unwavering strength and grace. She showed us the true meaning of resilience, and her strong will and smiling faces continue to inspire me every day. Her dear grandchildren will always love their Nanna’s embraces and treasure all the shared moment and little gifts they have been received from Nanna.
In 2024, I’m taking a stand against cancer and backing the brilliant brains at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
These WA researchers are committed to finding answers faster and developing ground-breaking treatments for the hardest-to-treat cancers.
I have committed to a challenging endeavor. I will be riding 200km to support WA cancer research. Over the course of 200km from Perth to Mandurah and return, I will be pushing my physical and mental limits to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
I believe that every pedal I push forward is a step closer to finding a cure for cancer and making the path a little less difficult for those who are currently on it. This endeavor is not just about me; it's about the countless individuals who have been affected by cancer and the hope that we can collectively bring to their lives. But I’m not doing it alone, there’s a growing group of riders who return year after year to this ride. They do so not only because it’s life-changing but because the event feels like a big reunion - where all the guests are the family you love!
I am reaching out to you because I believe in the power of community and the impact that we can create when we come together. I kindly request your support in this fundraising effort. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference. It will directly contribute to the critical work of cancer researchers and organizations striving to find better treatments, improve early detection, and ultimately conquer cancer.
I understand that the journey to beat cancer is long and challenging, but I am committed to making a difference. With your support, we can create a brighter future for all those affected by this relentless disease. Because no one should have to hear those two life-altering words, “It’s cancer.”
Thank you for considering my request and for joining me in this important endeavor. Your support means the world to me, and it brings us one step closer to a world without cancer.
Together, we can help make cancer history.
