I’m riding for Dad to help beat cancer
I'm riding to raise money for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Insitute of Medical Research.
Cancer is an incideous disease that impacts far too many Australians and their families.
I ride because of an unfortunate personal connection to cancer. Five years ago, my father was taken away from us far too prematurely and at a time when he was still active with friends and family and giving back to the community. His battle over that final 2 years was tough and ended without the outcome we hoped or, but having won a different cancer battle a decade earlier, he never let go of his positive attitude and never wanted to talk about failure.
Being a trained scientist myself, I know that only by the dogged determination of researchers and clinicians such as at the Harry Perkins Medical Institute can we reduce the number of families that had to go through the unfortunate journey we went through. No one should have to hear those two life-altering words, “It’s cancer.”
I’m training, fundraising and riding 200km to support WA cancer research. But I’m not doing it alone, there’s a growing group of riders who return year after year to this ride to help. Last year $8.6M was raised to support research at three of Perth's main hospitals.
I’d be so grateful for your support so please give generously to my fundraising page.
Together, we can help make cancer history.
Please help me, help the Perkins.
So far this year I helped provide…
hours of research
Funds raised over the years
Thank you to my Sponsors
