Riding for Kayla

In 2023 I completed my first MACA 200 cancer research ride. It was an incredible experience shared with like minded people wanting to change cancer outcomes by raising money for cancer research. It was a really hot weekend and despite being promised a tail wind on the way home, it was head winds both days. What I learnt…….I can do hard things and riding in a tutu makes you happy 🤣

With support of family, friends, colleagues and patients, I raised an amazing $34,070.21!

My motivation to ride was Kayla, a 24 year old young bride who died from metastatic vulval cancer last January. To witness her suffering and that of her parents was unbearable…….I rode and raised funds to support research for those with rare cancers.

This year I will be in Europe for the weekend of the ride.....SO.....I have committed to doing the 200km solo on the weekend of September 7 and 8, demonstrating my total commitment to this vital cause to keep the researchers funded to make cancer non-lethal.

I’m riding to beat cancer

There isn’t a single person I know that hasn’t been touched by cancer. Whether it’s through a loved one, friend, family member or it’s much more personal, cancer is a terrible burden.

In 2024, I’m taking a stand against cancer and backing the brilliant brains at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

These WA researchers are committed to finding answers faster and developing ground-breaking treatments for the hardest to treat cancers.

Because no one should have to hear those two life-altering words, “It’s cancer.”

I’m training, fundraising and riding 200km to support WA cancer research. But I’m not doing it alone, there’s a growing group of riders who return year after year to this ride. They do so not only because it’s lifechanging but because the event feels like a big reunion - where all the guests are the family you love!

I’d be so grateful for your support.

If you can’t join me (I’d love the company), please give generously to my fundraising page.

Together, we can help make cancer history.
