I’M RIDING IN CELEBRATION OF My Wife, Kristi
I’m riding for my family. 💛 This year’s Cancer 200 Ride is on October 17–18, and I’m determined to get on top of my fundraising early. Over time, cancer has hit closer and closer to home for me. My wife fought and beat breast cancer — and watching her go through chemo, the sickness, and the recovery in between was incredibly tough. Her strength still amazes me. My brother Ryan has beaten melanoma after multiple surgeries and skin grafts — and this year, once again I’ll be riding alongside him. We’ve also lost loved ones — my Aunty Jo and Uncle Si — and seen close calls within the family. Right now, our Uncle Mark is in the fight, and some even closer to home. This isn’t something far away anymore. It’s here. It’s personal. That’s why I’m riding — to support the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and the work they’re doing right here in WA to find better treatments and outcomes. In October 2026, I’m joining a community of passionate riders to cycle 200km to raise vital funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
Every dollar pushes us closer to breakthroughs at the Perkins where brilliant researchers work tirelessly to find life-saving answers for some of the toughest cancers. But they also need our help to ensure their vital progress continues– no matter what.
100% of the funds we raise will go back to the Perkins giving cancer researchers the support to continue their life-saving work so that our loved ones can live longer, healthier lives.
