Why I’m Riding the MACA Cancer 200 For the past two years, my mum has been courageously fighting cancer. At 81 years old, she has endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy — yet she greets every new day with remarkable strength, grace, and gratitude. Her positivity and resilience inspire me every single day. Watching her face this challenge with such quiet determination has shown me what true courage looks like. That’s why I’m taking on the MACA Cancer 200 — a 200 km ride over two days — to raise funds for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Every kilometre I ride is dedicated to her, and to supporting the groundbreaking cancer research that gives patients like my mum more precious days, better treatments, and real hope. In October 2026, I’m joining a community of passionate riders to cycle 200km to raise vital funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
Every dollar pushes us closer to breakthroughs at the Perkins where brilliant researchers work tirelessly to find life-saving answers for some of the toughest cancers. But they also need our help to ensure their vital progress continues– no matter what.
 100% of the funds we raise will go back to the Perkins giving cancer researchers the support to continue their life-saving work so that our loved ones can live longer, healthier lives.
