February Training Update

February has been about getting started and building some momentum — I’m happy to share I’ve ticked off 276km on the bike for the month.

I’m on a mission…

I’ve signed up for my first MACA Cancer 200 ride.  I’m definitely not a cyclist, but I wanted to take on a challenge for a reason that really matters.

This ride is about celebrating the survivors in my life – especially my wife Brandi, mother-in-law Shirley, father Giuseppe and grandfather Celestino – all of whom have faced cancer with incredible strength and courage.  Beyond my own circle, I’m riding for the many other family members and friends who have fought their own battles. There are so many important people I wish I could name individually but sadly the list would be long.

It’s also in memory of those we’ve loved who are no longer with us. I’ll be riding with them in my thoughts every km of the ride.

Like many people, cancer has touched our lives in ways we never expected. Doing this ride is just a small way for me to show support, raise some money, and hopefully help make a difference for others in the future. If you’re able to donate, even a few dollars, it would mean a lot to me and if donating isn’t possible, any encouragement along the way is just as appreciated.
