My First Ride. 🚴♀️Our Shared Fight.🎗️
This is my first year taking part in the MACA Cancer 200 Ride, and to be honest, it’s something I never expected I’d do. But after watching the incredible impact of last year’s event and seeing how much good it genuinely does, I felt inspired to buy a bike, start training, and give this challenge a real go.
Cancer touches every one of us in some way. None of us are immune to its reach, whether through a family member, a friend, or our wider community. That’s why I believe so strongly that any money invested into cancer research is money well spent. It helps us move closer to better treatments, better outcomes, and more time with the people we love.
And the impact of this event is real.
- In 2024, nearly 2,000 riders raised a record $10.2 million to support cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
- The following year, West Australians raised a further $8.1 million, bringing the lifetime total of the Ride to more than $82 million supporting research into the hardest‑to‑treat cancers.
- These funds go directly toward developing kinder treatments, supporting WA’s brightest scientists, and powering new breakthroughs that aim to improve patient outcomes and make cancer less lethal.
Knowing this is exactly why I’m riding.
This October, I’ll be cycling 200 km over two days - a massive personal challenge for my first year and my first long‑distance ride. It’s not going to be easy, but it is meaningful. Every kilometre is for someone who has faced cancer with courage, and every dollar raised helps keep vital research moving forward.
If you’re able, please support my
fundraiser.
Support it for cancer research.
Support it for the people we love.
And support it because I’m doing my very first 200 km ride, and I’d really
appreciate the encouragement.
Together, we can help create a future where cancer is no longer something to fear.
