I’M RIDING IN CELEBRATION OF My Friend

This year marks my fifth year riding in the MACA Cancer 200km.  The ride to helps raise funds to fight cancer. I was chatting to a colleague today and she said something that stuck with me. People always say cancer doesn’t discriminate — but she reckons that’s bullshit. She thinks it actually does… and that it seems to go for the good ones first. (She did follow that up by saying it leaves all the shitbags… but reassured me I’m not a shitbag, which was nice.) After the call I went for a jog — I do that sometimes. My brain doesn’t actually open too many tabs at once which might sound nice to some, but for me I get fixated on something and my brain won’t let it go until I can fix it. The problem is… I can’t make sense of cancer. I definitely can’t fix it. So, jogging up the path I thought maybe she’s right? Maybe cancer does go for the good ones? Then I thought, f*ck  I hate jogging… just get to the next streetlight. But somewhere in between all that, I thought — maybe the good ones get it because they are the ones who can carry it. The ones who still find the silver linings, the lessons, the moments of strength even when it’s unbelievably hard. That doesn’t make it fair. Not even close. But maybe it’s part of what makes them who they are. “Greatness breeds greatness” has become a bit of a saying for me this year, and that’s what I’ll be riding with. True Greatness!  I will ride with that greatness through thick and thin wherever it takes me. If you want to be part of that greatness, please consider donating. https://www.cancer200.org.au/s/6328/24259/e Let’s lift each other.

I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.

Cancer doesn’t just affect one person, it shakes up families, friends and communities. This year, I will be taking a stand against it.

In October 2026, I’m joining a community of passionate riders to cycle 200km to raise vital funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

Every dollar pushes us closer to breakthroughs at the Perkins where brilliant researchers work tirelessly to find life-saving answers for some of the toughest cancers. But they also need our help to ensure their vital progress continues– no matter what.

100% of the funds we raise will go back to the Perkins giving cancer researchers the support to continue their life-saving work so that our loved ones can live longer, healthier lives.

The Ride is more than just a test of endurance—it’s about unity. I'll ride alongside an incredible group of people who believe, as I do, that cancer can be conquered. Your support can turn this belief into reality.

I can’t do this alone. Will you help me to reach this goal?

Whether you join me on the Ride or support my fundraising, your generosity could be the key to saving our loved ones from this disease.

Together, we can beat cancer!
