I’M RIDING IN MEMORY OF My Mum, Colleen Parminter
I’m riding the MACA Cancer 200 in memory of my mum, who passed away from lung cancer at just 52, only three weeks after her diagnosis. I’m raising funds for the Harry Perkins Institute because early detection saves lives and gives families more time.
I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.
Why I’m Riding the MACA Cancer 200
This year, I’m riding in the MACA Cancer 200 in memory of my mum and in support of a future where fewer families experience the heartbreak that mine did.
My mother was just 52 years old when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Three weeks later, she was gone. The speed at which cancer changed our lives was devastating, and we were left wishing there had been more time, more options, and more hope.
That experience taught me that early detection can make all the difference. When cancer is identified early, treatment options improve, outcomes are better, and families are given precious time together. That is why I am passionate about supporting the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and the incredible work they do to advance cancer research and improve early detection.
By taking on the challenge of the MACA Cancer 200, I am not only honouring my mum’s memory but also helping to raise funds that can contribute to life-saving breakthroughs. Every kilometre ridden and every dollar donated supports research that has the potential to change lives.
Thank you for supporting this cause and helping create a future where more families get the time that ours did not.
