Turning My Experience into Action

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Thankfully, my story is one of early detection and positive outcomes — surgery removed the tumour, and my scans have shown no spread. While I still face ongoing monitoring, I know how fortunate I am.

But my experience isn’t an isolated one. Cancer has impacted my family deeply — my mum, my sister, my cousin, and my aunty, who sadly lost her life to breast cancer. Seeing how it touches so many lives has been both confronting and motivating.

Taking part in the MACA Cancer 200 Ride is my way of doing something meaningful — to help ensure fewer families go through what mine has endured. I’m riding to honour those we’ve lost, to support those still fighting, and to contribute to a future where more people get the chance to say, “I’m cancer-free.”
