I’M RIDING IN HONOUR OF My Friend, Ryan Glossop
I met Ryan through Piccolo Racing Club (PRC) in the middle of last year. Even though I've only known him for a relatively short time, it didn't take long to see the impact he has on the people around him. Ryan is one of those genuinely positive people who always has a smile on his face, brings good energy to every ride, and makes everyone feel welcome (...slow and unfit!!!). He's a long-standing member of the PRC group, an exceptional cyclist, a multiple Ironman finisher, and the sort of person who is always willing to help others—both on and off the bike. The mateship, support and camaraderie that make PRC such a special group are things you see in Ryan every time you ride with him. When we heard of Ryan's diagnosis, there was never any question about what we'd do. We ride together, and now we're riding for him. But this ride has become about more than just one mate. Over the past few years, I've watched several close friends face battles they never expected. Lucinda Cunningham, Jason Falkingham, Kelby Duroiselle and, most recently, Kent Dixon have all had their lives turned upside down by cancer. They were—and still are—fit, healthy, active people with beautiful families, simply getting on with life when they received news that changed everything. Watching them navigate the uncertainty, treatment and challenges that follow a diagnosis has been both heartbreaking and inspiring. Through it all, they've shown incredible courage, resilience and positivity. Thankfully, Lucinda, Jason and Kelby can now see light at the end of the tunnel, while Kent has only recently begun his treatment journey after an early diagnosis. There is every reason to be optimistic, but he still has a road ahead of him, and we're all behind him every step of the way. Cancer doesn't discriminate. It doesn't care how healthy, strong or young you are. It affects families, friends and entire communities. That's why this ride means so much to me. It's for Ryan, it's for Lucinda, Jason, Kelby and Kent, and it's for every person and family whose lives have been changed by this disease. Together, we're taking on the MACA Cancer 200 to raise funds for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, helping support the research that gives hope to people and families facing cancer. If you're able to donate, no matter the amount, we'd be incredibly grateful. Every dollar helps fund life-changing research and brings us one step closer to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. Thank you for helping us ride with purpose
I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.
Cancer doesn’t just affect one person, it shakes up families, friends and communities. This year, I will be taking a stand against it.Â
In October 2026, I’m joining a community of passionate riders to cycle 200km to raise vital funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
Every dollar pushes us closer to breakthroughs at the Perkins where brilliant researchers work tirelessly to find life-saving answers for some of the toughest cancers. But they also need our help to ensure their vital progress continues– no matter what.
100% of the funds we raise will go back to the Perkins giving cancer researchers the support to continue their life-saving work so that our loved ones can live longer, healthier lives.
The Ride is more than just a test of endurance—it’s about unity. I'll ride alongside an incredible group of people who believe, as I do, that cancer can be conquered. Your support can turn this belief into reality.
I can’t do this alone. Will you help me to reach this goal?
Whether you join me on the Ride or support my fundraising, your generosity could be the key to saving our loved ones from this disease.
Together, we can beat cancer!
