Riding for Something Bigger: Team ACCIONA’s Third Year in the MACA Cancer 200

Every October, thousands of riders roll out for the MACA Cancer 200 — two days, 200 kilometres, and one shared purpose: to support life‑changing cancer research at the Perkins. For Team ACCIONA, this ride has become more than an event. It’s become part of who we are.

As we enter our third year, I couldn’t be prouder to lead this team once again. What started as a small group of passionate riders has grown into a community — one built on resilience, generosity, and a belief that ordinary people can create extraordinary impact.

Growing stronger, together

Last year, 22 riders wore the ACCIONA jersey. This year, we’re pushing even further, aiming to grow to 30 riders — each one bringing their own story, their own motivation, and their own commitment to the cause.

Every new rider means more conversations, more awareness, and more momentum behind the mission to defeat cancer. It means more families supported, more research funded, and more hope for the future.

A bold new target: $150,000

In just two years, our team has already raised an incredible amount for the Perkins. But in 2026, we’re setting our most ambitious goal yet: $150,000 to support world‑class cancer research.

It’s a big number — and that’s exactly why we’re chasing it. Cancer doesn’t take small steps, and neither will we.

Why we ride

Every rider on our team has a reason. Some ride for loved ones lost. Some ride for those still fighting. Some ride because they believe in a future where cancer is no longer a life‑defining diagnosis.

As Team Captain, I ride for all of them. I ride because I’ve seen what this team is capable of. I ride because every kilometer, every donation, and every conversation brings us closer to a world where cancer research is fully supported and lives are changed.

How you can help

Your support — whether big or small — fuels this mission. It helps our team train harder, ride stronger, and raise the funds that make real scientific breakthroughs possible.

If you’re able to donate, you’re not just supporting a team. You’re supporting families, researchers, and a future where cancer has fewer victories.

Looking ahead

Year three is shaping up to be our biggest yet. More riders. More impact. More lives changed.

Thank you for standing with us, cheering for us, and believing in what we’re trying to achieve. Together, we can make 2026 a year of real progress — on the bike and in the fight against cancer.

Let’s ride with purpose. Let’s ride with heart. Let’s ride for those who can’t.

I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.

Cancer doesn’t just affect one person, it shakes up families, friends and communities. This year, I will be taking a stand against it.

In October 2026, I’m joining a community of passionate riders to cycle 200km to raise vital funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

Every dollar pushes us closer to breakthroughs at the Perkins where brilliant researchers work tirelessly to find life-saving answers for some of the toughest cancers. But they also need our help to ensure their vital progress continues– no matter what.

100% of the funds we raise will go back to the Perkins giving cancer researchers the support to continue their life-saving work so that our loved ones can live longer, healthier lives.

The Ride is more than just a test of endurance—it’s about unity. I'll ride alongside an incredible group of people who believe, as I do, that cancer can be conquered. Your support can turn this belief into reality.

I can’t do this alone. Will you help me to reach this goal?

Whether you join me on the Ride or support my fundraising, your generosity could be the key to saving our loved ones from this disease.

Together, we can beat cancer!
