I’M RIDING IN HONOUR OF My Dad, Timmy & My Friend Tiddles

Riding 200km on the road is not exactly my idea of fun 😅 (although, as this is my third year taking part in the MACA 200, I can tell you it really is such a fun weekend!) So why do I do it? Let me tell you! We can all agree that cancer is a bitch, and I'm sure most, if not all, of us have been affected by cancer at some point in our lives. Whether it's a family member, a friend, or you yourself who are fighting or have fought cancer, chances are cancer has touched your life in some way. 🤍 I lost my wonderful dad, Timmy, to brain cancer in 2011 after a short nine-month battle. He was just 54 years old. 🤍 One of my best friends, Tiddles, is currently going through treatment (and absolutely smashing it!) after being diagnosed with breast cancer at just 33. She beat it, only to be told eight years later that the cancer had returned. These two, along with all the other incredible people I know who have fought cancer, are fighting it now, or have sadly lost their battle, are my why. As someone who usually only rides a stationary bike indoors, in a dark room with loud music (it's much harder to fall off that way!), riding on the road is definitely outside my comfort zone. There's traffic, unpredictable weather and even the occasional baby animal that can be quite distracting and nearly send me flying off my bike! But I'm always up for the challenge if it means raising funds for a cause that's incredibly important to me and so close to my heart. All money raised goes towards supporting the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, helping fund the vital research needed to make a difference to people affected by cancer. If you can spare even a few dollars, any donation would mean the world to me. 💕 As much as I know there'll be moments during those 200km when I'm questioning why on earth I voluntarily signed up for this for the third year in a row, I also know that 200km on a bike is nothing compared to what people going through cancer treatment face. I know the cost of living is tough right now, so please know that every little bit helps, and I'm incredibly grateful for any support you can give. Much love 💕

I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.

Cancer doesn’t just affect one person, it shakes up families, friends and communities. This year, I will be taking a stand against it.

In October 2026, I’m joining a community of passionate riders to cycle 200km to raise vital funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

Every dollar pushes us closer to breakthroughs at the Perkins where brilliant researchers work tirelessly to find life-saving answers for some of the toughest cancers. But they also need our help to ensure their vital progress continues– no matter what.

100% of the funds we raise will go back to the Perkins giving cancer researchers the support to continue their life-saving work so that our loved ones can live longer, healthier lives.

The Ride is more than just a test of endurance—it’s about unity. I'll ride alongside an incredible group of people who believe, as I do, that cancer can be conquered. Your support can turn this belief into reality.

I can’t do this alone. Will you help me to reach this goal?

Whether you join me on the Ride or support my fundraising, your generosity could be the key to saving our loved ones from this disease.

Together, we can beat cancer!
