I'm challenging myself again for cancer research

Last year’s ride was a great experience (despite the wet and windy Saturday) and with the support and friendship shown along the way it was so much more than I ever expected. So, I made the decision to ride again this year and raise more for cancer research. This year’s ride is the weekend of the 17th and 18th of October. I will be riding with over 1800 other riders, on my road bike again, not the e-bike!

Everyone has been touched by cancer sometime in their lives and as most of you will know I had treatment in 2024 for prostate cancer and our daughter Kylie fought off bowel cancer in 2020, benefiting from research into that cancer in the years that led up to her diagnosis.

I am training and fundraising in the lead up to the event.  Cooking breakfast and sausages at Sunnydale’s Vintage Day on the 5th of September was once again a great success. Thanks to family and friends for helping on the day. My two youngest grandchildren, Chloe and Isabelle, once again collected 10 cent containers at the caravan park this year and raised $458 in total.
