ITS PERSONAL - We are all touched by Cancer - Help me to make a difference

Cancer has taken so much from us. Whether it is a loved one, family member, friend or closer to home, cancer is relentless.
My personal slogan for each year’s ride is “IT’S PERSONAL” – for me this holds true, as it does for many who participate in this annual event.  It seems in life, we are all touched by Cancer, my father has survived Bowel cancer and living life to the fullest in retirement in NZ, but I had an elderly relative in NZ who lost his battle with cancer and passed away six years ago.  I have also had a Skin Cancer – Melanoma removed from my neck, so count myself extremely lucky in discovering it early enough to do something about it!
I want to put a stop to cancer by riding 200kms to raise vital funds for cancer research right here in WA.

The funds I raise will go to the brilliant minds at the Perkins who are committed to finding breakthroughs that will lead to improved health outcomes for those affected by the hardest-to-treat diseases.

Hearing the words “it’s cancer” is heart-wrenching. But with Perkins researchers, I am determined to eliminate the fear and uncertainty that cancer brings.

On Saturday 17 October and Sunday 18 October 2026, I will pedal alongside my fellow teammate Adal and many other riders, who share the dream of making cancer non-lethal. Your support can turn this dream into reality.

Many riders return every year because they know that the funds we raise go back to the Perkins. In fact, it is the 7th year in a row that I ride in this amazing event with Adal.
 It is also a worst kept secret that the Ride is the friendliest cycling charity event in Australia. Why not join me in making a difference?

I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.

Cancer doesn’t just affect one person, it shakes up families, friends and communities. This year, I will be taking a stand against it. 

In October 2026, I’m joining a community of passionate riders to cycle 200km to raise vital funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

Every dollar pushes us closer to breakthroughs at the Perkins where brilliant researchers work tirelessly to find life-saving answers for some of the toughest cancers. But they also need our help to ensure their vital progress continues– no matter what.

 100% of the funds we raise will go back to the Perkins giving cancer researchers the support to continue their life-saving work so that our loved ones can live longer, healthier lives.

The Ride is more than just a test of endurance—it’s about unity. I'll ride alongside an incredible group of people who believe, as I do, that cancer can be conquered. Your support can turn this belief into reality.
