Lockton Training Camp

With the MACA Cancer 200 getting closer, the Lockton team has decided it might be wise to do a little more preparation than simply turning up with a bike and hoping for the best.

Over the eight weeks leading into the ride, we’ll be heading out for a series of Wednesday morning training rides. We’ll start with a steady 20km river loop and gradually build the distance, with a few hills and coastal headwinds added along the way to keep everyone honest.

The plan is simple: leave from the Lockton office at 6:00 am, ride at a social pace, make sure nobody gets dropped, and finish with coffee and breakfast somewhere local. The coffee may, in fact, be the strongest part of the training program.

It’s been great to see so many of the Lockton riders put their hands up to join in. There will no doubt be some tired legs, questionable fashion choices and increasingly creative excuses once the hills arrive, but plenty of laughs and encouragement along the way.

Behind all the fun is a cause that means a great deal to us. The MACA Cancer 200 supports cancer research through the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, and every kilometre we ride and every donation we receive helps contribute to that work.

Eight weeks, eight training rides and eventually 200km over one big weekend. Wish us luck, and if you see a group of sleepy cyclists rolling out of West Perth before sunrise, give us a wave.

I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.

Cancer doesn’t just affect one person, it shakes up families, friends and communities. This year, I will be taking a stand against it.

In October 2026, I’m joining a community of passionate riders to cycle 200km to raise vital funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

Every dollar pushes us closer to breakthroughs at the Perkins where brilliant researchers work tirelessly to find life-saving answers for some of the toughest cancers. But they also need our help to ensure their vital progress continues– no matter what.

100% of the funds we raise will go back to the Perkins giving cancer researchers the support to continue their life-saving work so that our loved ones can live longer, healthier lives.

The Ride is more than just a test of endurance—it’s about unity. I'll ride alongside an incredible group of people who believe, as I do, that cancer can be conquered. Your support can turn this belief into reality.

I can’t do this alone. Will you help me to reach this goal?

Whether you join me on the Ride or support my fundraising, your generosity could be the key to saving our loved ones from this disease.

Together, we can beat cancer!
