Let’s all party

Imagine you get invited to a party. You don’t remember anything before getting there, or who invited you, but you walk through the door and you love the place.

It’s not perfect, but nothing is, and that’s a part of what makes it interesting.

You make friends. Build relationships. If you’re lucky, you get to invite other little  people to the party, people so special to you.

You do your best to make the most of it.

You enjoy yourself, but not at the expense of others. You also make an effort to make sure other party goers aren’t missing out.

Then, unexpectedly and out of the blue, you get a tap on the shoulder. Looks like you might have to leave the party early.

But you still have so much to do…

Those relationships…

What about those you invited to the party, will they be ok without you…

Imagine that.

Cancer is the tap on the shoulder saying you might have to leave.

Odds are, this hasn’t been too difficult to imagine. Because odds are, you know someone who has been tapped on the shoulder and asked to leave too early. That relationship you built. Someone who invited others. A person who brings joy to your party.

If you will, imagine a little more, and stretch that to belief.

We can keep the party going. We can.

Cancer research will help. Funds help cancer research. This October, I’m taking part of the MACA 200 and riding 200km over two days to raise funds for the Harry Perkins institute.

I want that tap on the shoulder to not mean you have to leave the party. I want the party to last as long as it can.

Bike seats are proof that the party ain’t perfect, but it’s SO MUCH better than the alternative.

Please donate.

I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.

Cancer has taken so much from us. Whether it is a loved one, family member, friend or closer to home, cancer is relentless.

I want to put a stop to cancer by riding 200kms to raise vital funds for cancer research right here in WA.

The funds I raise will go to the brilliant minds at the Perkins who are committed to !nding breakthroughs that will lead to improved health outcomes for those aected by the hardest-to-treat diseases.

Hearing the words “it’s cancer” is heart-wrenching. But with Perkins researchers, I am determined to eliminate the fear and uncertainty that cancer brings.

On Saturday 11 October and Sunday 12 October 2025, I will pedal alongside my fellow riders who share the dream of making cancer non-lethal. Your support can turn this dream into reality.

Many riders return every year because they know that the funds we raise go back to the Perkins. It is also a worst kept secret that the Ride is the friendliest cycling charity event in Australia. Why not join me in making a difference?

Whether you join me on the Ride or contribute to my fundraising page, your generous support matters.

Together, we can conquer cancer.
