In Memory of My Grandfather, Celestino

My grandfather Celestino, who I originally signed up to ride in honour of as a cancer survivor, passed away this weekend.
He was a big part of our family and someone who always valued having his family around him. When I take on the 200km in October, I’ll now be riding in his memory as well as for everyone else who has been touched by cancer.
This one’s for you, Nonno.
May Training Update

Despite being away for half the month, I still managed to clock up 431 km for May. The consistency is continuing to build with some rides over 60 km and another pushing out towards the 80 km mark.    Â
Thank you to everyone who has supported the journey so far. Your encouragement and donations help keep the wheels turning.
April Training Update

With Easter and some time away, there were a few missed training days this month but I still managed to finish April with 408m ridden and kept the momentum going.
The consistency is still buildingand I’m staying focused on the goal of the ride in October.
Every ride is another step closer — thanks again to everyone supporting the journey and the cause.ÂMarch Training Update

March has been a big step forward — 560km on the bike for the month, including my first 100km ride.
The rides are getting longer and the legs are getting stronger. That first 100km was a big personal milestone — tough in parts but a great feeling to get it done.
February Training Update

I’m on a mission…
I’ve signed up for my first MACA Cancer 200 ride.  I’m definitely not a cyclist, but I wanted to take on a challenge for a reason that really matters.
This ride is about celebrating the survivors in my life – especially my wife Brandi, mother-in-law Shirley, father Giuseppe and grandfather Celestino – all of whom have faced cancer with incredible strength and courage.  Beyond my own circle, I’m riding for the many other family members and friends who have fought their own battles. There are so many important people I wish I could name individually but sadly the list would be long.
It’s also in memory of those we’ve loved who are no longer with us. I’ll be riding with them in my thoughts every km of the ride.
Like many people, cancer has touched our lives in ways we never expected. Doing this ride is just a small way for me to show support, raise some money, and hopefully help make a difference for others in the future. If you’re able to donate, even a few dollars, it would mean a lot to me and if donating isn’t possible, any encouragement along the way is just as appreciated.
