I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.
In 2020, at age 37 I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. I was fortunate to have the close support of family and friends, as well as amazing doctors and specialists. Six years later I'm cancer free and so grateful for the help and the successful treatment I received.
In October 2026, I’m joining a community of passionate riders to cycle 200km to raise vital funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
Being part of this event is an opportunity for me to give back, express my gratitude to all those who helped me, and to share my experience -Â particular with young men - to increase awareness of testicular cancer and prevent worst-case outcomes through early detection.
It's also an opportunity to promote the importance of funding research into types of cancers where break-throughs in knowledge and treatment are still sorely needed, work that Harry Perkins Institute is a world-leader in.
For the ride I will be joining up with my good friend, Ryan Dunham, who is also a cancer survivor (twice!) and no slouch on a bike. By doing this together we get to live our dream of being on a 'pro-cycling' team representing our family, friends and supporters.
Thanks for you support and generosity - see you at the finish line!
