I’M RIDING IN CELEBRATION OF My Friend

Please help me raise funds and support my cause.

Training...

This year is my third go at the MACA Cancer 200, and a bit of a different one from the previous two. For starters, I'm actually training on the bike! Last year and the year before, I attacked it "cold", on a base of youth and rowing conditioning. With the former gradually slipping away as I turn 27 in a couple of days, and the latter not applicable, having taken a season out of the boat, I'm deciding to take my sport-specific preparation seriously. That's involved some great fun chatty Thursday morning rides to McDonald's Baldivis and back with my good mate Liam, a lot of hours bingeing SBS On Demand's Canadian buddy cop show "Hudson & Rex" while sitting on the Concept2 BikeErg, learning to write my own program (What is a Norwegian 4X4 and will mum and dad's Prado do?), rather than following whatever was written for me by my beloved Fremantle Rowing club to condition me for a 6ish minute rowing race (a slightly different undertaking compared with two back-to-back 100km days on the bike), and my trusty old "chop 'til you drop" approach to the River Loop, a staple for most Perth-based recreational cyclists. A good consistent block, as well as watching my nutrition and recovery more seriously than I ever have, has my water-damaged Garmin Forerunner 945 telling me my training's "Productive", my weekly trips to Baldivis getting faster, my mid-ride nutrition getting more efficient and my optimism about my preparedness at an all-time high.
The other difference this year, I'm part of a team of more than three people! This is an exciting development, and I'm proud to be a member of one of the top 10 fundraising corporate teams, ACCIONA.

I’m on a mission to defeat cancer.

Cancer doesn’t just affect one person, it shakes up families, friends and communities. This year, I will be taking a stand against it.

In October 2026, I’m joining a community of passionate riders to cycle 200km to raise vital funds for cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

Every dollar pushes us closer to breakthroughs at the Perkins where brilliant researchers work tirelessly to find life-saving answers for some of the toughest cancers. But they also need our help to ensure their vital progress continues– no matter what.

100% of the funds we raise will go back to the Perkins giving cancer researchers the support to continue their life-saving work so that our loved ones can live longer, healthier lives.

The Ride is more than just a test of endurance—it’s about unity. I'll ride alongside an incredible group of people who believe, as I do, that cancer can be conquered. Your support can turn this belief into reality.

I can’t do this alone. Will you help me to reach this goal?

Whether you join me on the Ride or support my fundraising, your generosity could be the key to saving our loved ones from this disease.

Together, we can beat cancer!
